Revised Arrangements for Membership Application

We are introducing some changes with effect from 1st March 2020.   Firstly there is a 3rd option for method of payment for the annual subscription. Payment will still be accepted by cheque, made payable to U3A Chelmsford, either at the monthly membership meeting or by post to the Membership Secretary, and by cash at the monthly membership meeting. Payment can now also be made by bank transfer, the details you will need are:

Name of account: U3A Chelmsford

Sort Code: 40-10-27

Account Number: 41153684

Reference: U3A Membership Number(s)

Your membership number(s) will enable the Treasurer to identify who has paid.  New members will initially still have just two options, cheque or cash.

For tax-paying members who wish the U3A to benefit from Gift Aid on their subscriptions, at no cost to themselves, the Gift Aid Declaration will cover all future renewals unless we hear from you to the contrary. Signing the Gift Aid Declaration is therefore more important this year. The membership application form has been revised accordingly.

The new membership form is available to download here

We hope that you will remain a U3A member for many years. During your membership you might change your E-Mail address, telephone number, postal address or name.  Please inform the membership secretary by email or phone with the details

Welcome to Chelmsford U3A

U3A stands for University of the Third Age, or that period in our lives after childhood and working life, when most of us have finished paid employment, and our families have flown the nest.  Although called a University, we do not seek to offer degrees, but use the term in its original sense, of groups of people wishing to study or discuss a subject.  We take this idea very loosely and include many and various topics, which in some cases are just pure enjoyment, and do not include study at all!

Please browse this web site and if you like what you see and want to know more about the U3A Chelmsford come to one of our monthly meetings as a guest.  You will be most welcome.
To join Chelmsford U3A contact Diane Brewer 01245 476274
(Please state U3A in the subject line of your email).

Yours sincerely, The Committee
